Thank you for the nice post.

well, truthfully, for all they knew, your kid could have been cooking a pants bomb

hee hee

Remind me to tell you the story of how I was almost killed by then-Speaker-Of-The House Tip O'Neil's limo, once upon a time... or when I had a chat with Secretary of Defense Cohen in the Pentagon City Border's.

I love this town.

Security people have no sense of humor. Best to move Herr Meoww away from the stoop.

Washington Monument, Capitol, Lincoln Monument postcards are nothing like the experience of being up close and personal to the real deal. I consider these monuments to be personal friends of mine. Postcards? What?? Clearly you have not spent enough time with these big boys. I'll show you sometime is you like.

Happy weekend!

How rude! Whatever! You're too good for their stoop anyway!

Your internal retort put a smile on my face.

That security guy was really stoop-id! :)

(sorry)

Nice post~

Wow, that guard sounds a bit extreme. But of course all the 'not ours' things are the very best!

Something similar happened to me while camping in a state park in Northern California. I was washing my dishes and the Park Warden came to collect our camping fee. I happened to be washing a big sharp knife and as I was talking to him, I was casually waving it around. Bad. Idea. The guy freaked, he literally put his hand on his gun hoister and told me to step away from the knife. I started laughing because the situation was so hilarious to this small town Canadian gal. But he repeated it again. Ma'am. Step. Away. From. The. Knife. WTF eh?

Thank you all for your sweet and funny replies! Remind me to steer clear of drinking fluids while reading some of your comments ;o)
